Players' Improvement Fund
$1 from every paid green fee is allocated for improvements that you, the golfer, can have a say in. The PIF generates about $60k a year for investment in your golf club. These funds are used to finance projects that enhance Santa Barbara Golf Club for all golfers.
A five-person subcommittee, (PIFSC), chaired by John Craig seeks out ideas from golfers and meets regularly in publically noticed meetings to discuss potential projects and vote on items to be taken to the Golf Advisory Committee (GAC) for consideration. If the GAC approve the use of funds, then the final approval lies with the Parks and Recreation Department.
2016 Completed Projects:
Beginning on March 21 we started the renovation. It took about two weeks in construction. Now the projects are finished and golfers enjoying the upgrades.
Junior and Senior tee boxes were drastically upgraded through the renovation project. These tee boxes will help make golf more enjoyable to those who play from the Junior and Senior Tees. At Santa Barbara Golf Club, it’s important for us to make golf as accommodating as it can be to players of all ability and skill levels. Our tee box renovations will make golf more enjoyable for all.
In addition to our tee box renovations, the Players’ Improvement Fund has also recently completed modifications to bunkers on Holes #3, #10, #16 and #18. The renovations aim to make these areas more forgiving and easier to maintain.
